By Automobile:
If your car has GPS, the
best information I have is that we are at North 43 Degrees 05.630
Minutes and West 79 Degrees 03.402 Minutes
From the West - Exit
53 of the New York State Thruway to Route I-190. Continue through the
City of Buffalo and along the Niagara River. Cross two Grand Island
Bridges and exit to Robert Moses Parkway (exit 21). The exit is as you
come off the second bridge on the North side of the Island. Keep bearing
right as the exit road loops around under the bridge you just crossed
- do NOT go to Buffalo Avenue. Continue along Parkway to the first exit
"City Traffic" "Casino". After leaving Parkway,
go to the second traffic light (Rainbow Blvd.). Turn left on to Rainbow
Blvd. Go to second traffic light and turn right into Third Street. As
you drive down Third Street, note the plaza and Casino on your right,
the Conference Center on the left, the grey building at the corner of
Niagara Street - site of the Aerospace Museum - and the two-block-ling
"Entertainment District" between Niagara and Main Streets.
Turn right on to Main Street /Route 104 East. MANCHESTERHOUSE (653 Main
Street) is on the right side of this street, just past the Post Office.

From Canada - ( From
St. Catharines, Ontario area) - Take Queen Elizabeth Way toward Niagara,
then Ontario Route 420 East to Rainbow Bridge to USA IMPORTANT
NOTE: If you do not turn on to Route 420, you will end up in Fort Erie
and Buffalo. After exiting bridge, take the first left turn
and follow this road around a bend to the right on to Main Street (Route 104 East). Then follow 104. MANCHESTER HOUSE is on your right,
just past the Post Office.
By AMTRAK Railroad:
The City of Niagara Falls
is served by regular AMTRAK service from the East and West. Connections
from New York City seem to be the best; travelers from the Western United
States may have to wait in Buffalo for quite a while to make the connection
to Niagara Falls. When you make your reservation, please make sure that
your trip ends in Niagara Falls, NY and not in Buffalo, about 30 miles
(50 km) away. The Niagara Falls train station is about three miles (5
km) away, and taxicabs are available.
By Intercity
Bus:
There is service to Niagara
Falls, USA from Cleveland (with connection at Buffalo), Toronto, and
New York City via Albany, NY - but almost all our guests arriving by
bus take a Greyhound bus from New York City. If you cannot get a direct
connection to Niagara Falls, you will buy a ticket to Buffalo, New York,
as Niagara Falls is served by only a few Greyhound buses per day. Trailways
(web site) (another bus
company) also serves Buffalo, but has extremely limited service to Niagara
Falls, NY. If you arrive in Buffalo (about 25 miles or 40 km away) you
will take a #40 (local) or #60 (express) METRO (City) bus to Niagara
Falls. A schedule is posted in the Buffalo bus station near the Information
Booth. The fare is $1.85; the exact fare is paid upon boarding the bus,
and dollar bills and coins are accepted. Get off the #60 express bus
at 7th Street and Pine Avenue (a city block from Manchester House),
the #40 bus passes the corner of Main Street and Pine Avenue in front
of Manchester House. The Metro bus trip takes about one hour.
From the Buffalo, NY Airport:
The closest commercial airport
for scheduled airlines is Buffalo, NY (the Buffalo-Niagara Airport).
This airport is about 25 miles (40 km) from Niagara Falls and - like
most airports - is far away from the Buffalo city center. This makes
ground transportation from the airport to Niagara Falls an interesting
challenge. Our preferences, listed in order, are:
- Rent a car. While
you don't really need a car once you are here, it may not be much
more expensive to enjoy the convenience of coming and going when you
wish. Make sure the car you rent has documentation for travel into
Canada. Ask the rental agent for directions to the I-290 expressway.
Then follow the directions above" From the East ".
- Take a taxicab
The one-way charge will be about $60.00. The trip is not metered,
so negotiate the charge with the driver before you set off to avoid
surprises upon arrival!
- Other modes of transportation
are available. There is a shuttle-bus connection from the Buffalo
Airport to Niagara Falls (phone716-633-8294)) with 5 trips daily during
the summer - the cost is about $18 per person one way, $31 round-trip.
It is possible to travel by municipal(Metro) bus, too, if you have
lots of time. Take the Number 30 Bus from the Terminal, and transfer
at Niagara and Vulcan Streets to a Number 40 Bus to Niagara Falls.
The total fare will be less than $4.00. You will arrive at the Niagara
Falls bus terminal three city blocks from Manchester House. The trip
might take you three hours, and the bus does not operate in the late
evening hours.
From the Niagara Falls,
NY Airport:
The airport is located in
Wheatfield,NY, not far from the City of Niagara Falls. Cab fare is about
$10 to Manchester House. A METRO (City) bus stops at the Airport - it
is about a half hour bus ride to the Transportation Center, three blocks
from Manchester House - the fare is $1.25 (exact amount required).
This airport only handles
private airplanes (there are no scheduled, commercial flights). The
airport is served by Buffalo Approach Control. The field has an ILS
approach to Runway 28R, an NDB approach and GPS approaches. A TACAN
approach is also available for you military types!.Niagara has a Class
D airspace, and the tower is open 16 hours a day from early morning
to 10 PM or so in the evening. The airport even has a 9,125 foot long
(about 3km - it is L-O-N-G, in fact the fourth-longest in New York State)
Runway! A note of caution to the non-local fliers: the airspace directly
over the falls is a restricted area!
The airfield has a military
side to the North, and a civilian side to the South. Airplane servicing
and parking arrangements can be made by calling Tech Aviation Services,
the Fixed-Base Operator at (716) 298-9307. Airport Operations and other
assistance is at at (716) 297-4494.
